We hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend spent with family, friends, and plenty of summer sunshine. Things are in full swing here at Kebler Corner, and July is shaping up to be one of the best months of the season in the North Fork Valley.

Crested Butte Wildflower Festival | July 10–19
One of Colorado’s most iconic summer events returns just over the mountains from us.
The Crested Butte Wildflower Festival celebrates peak alpine bloom season with guided hikes, photography workshops, art classes, garden tours, and educational programs led by local experts. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the incredible wildflower displays that make this region world-famous every July.
Whether you’re an avid photographer or just love a good mountain hike, this is one of the best summer events in the state.

Anthracite Creek Fly Fishing Report | Week of July 6
Fishing conditions continue to improve as runoff gradually tapers and water clarity increases throughout Anthracite Creek.
Current Conditions
Flows are beginning to stabilize, and fishing is becoming more consistent throughout the day. Early mornings still offer the most productive window, but anglers are now seeing improved action later into the morning and early afternoon.

Dry-dropper setups are becoming especially effective as insect activity increases with warmer weather.

As conditions continue to stabilize, fish are spreading out more evenly throughout the system.
Current Fire Conditions
As we move into July, hot temperatures, low humidity, and dry vegetation have led to increased wildfire activity across Colorado’s Western Slope. Several wildfires are currently burning throughout the state, and firefighters continue working around the clock to contain them. While many of these fires are located well outside of the North Fork Valley, they serve as an important reminder that wildfire conditions can change quickly during Colorado summers.
Here at Kebler Corner, we are currently operating under Stage 2 Fire Restrictions to help protect our guests, neighboring properties, and the surrounding forest. These restrictions are more stringent than Gunnison County’s current Stage 1 restrictions and are specific to our campground.
What This Means for Our Guests
- No campfires are permitted, including in fire rings or fire pits.
- Charcoal grills and other open-flame devices are prohibited.
- Propane grills and camp stoves with an on/off valve are permitted for cooking.
- Smoking should only take place inside enclosed vehicles or designated safe areas, with cigarette butts disposed of properly.
While we know campfires are a favorite part of the camping experience, these precautions are essential to protecting our beautiful valley and ensuring everyone can continue enjoying the outdoors safely. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we do our part to reduce wildfire risk during this exceptionally dry summer.
